How long does it take the TRIA laser hair removal system to start working? It starts working the first time you use it, but because of the hair growth cycle this is a “long-term process” as stated in the TRIA laser manual. After the first use, you really won’t notice much of a change at all. Actually, you’ll think that the hair is growing and some say that notice even faster growth. But what you are seeing is not actual growth, but the hair being pushed out. It can take up to two weeks for these hairs to be pushed [...]

Using the TRIA laser hair removal system takes some getting used to. Don’t get me wrong, it’ s not difficult by any means, but it does take practice. Especially over large areas. The laser window is actually quite small, about the size of a dime. And you want to make sure you cover the entire area you are treating, including some overlapping. Once I have the TRIA laser fully charged, unlocked, and set to the level I want, I place the handpiece so that the laser window sits flat against my skin. You don’t need to press very hard, pretty [...]

Using the TRIA laser at home hair removal system is surprisingly easy. Once you’ve prepared your skin, unlocked the laser with the TRIA skin sensor, and selected the laser’s energy level, you’re ready to begin. The TRIA laser will work when the laser window is pressed flat against your skin. You don’t have to press hard, but all three sides of the triangle around the laser must be touching the skin or it won’t work. Once the laser window is against your skin, the laser is triggered automatically. You don’t have to press a button or anything like that to [...]

For my first full session of the TRIA laser hair removal system, I selected an area on my chest about the size of a deck of cards. It took me about 20-30 minutes to complete the laser treatment on this area. So how does the laser hair removal treatment actually work? First you have to unlock the laser with the Tria skin sensor. Once the laser is unlocked, you’re ready to begin. My TRIA laser has five energy level settings. They are: Low Medium Low Medium Medium High High The higher the setting, the more effective the treatment. To get [...]

The TRIA laser hair removal system runs on a battery. Unfortunately, the unit cannot be used while plugged into an outlet. When you receive the TRIA laser, you must charge it for a minimum of three hours before using it the first time. And after using the laser, it is a good idea to go ahead and plug it right in so the laser system will be ready to use the next time. The instructions for use that come with the TRIA laser hair removal system do tell you that it is okay to keep the laser plugged in for [...]

Now that I’ve passed the “test patch” test, I’m ready to being my first full Tria laser hair removal treatment. With the until fully charged, I decided to start with full coverage over my chest area. It’s a small area, frankly, but I figure a good spot to start and I certainly would love not to have hair there. The good news is that the hair is not very thick, too, so I’m thinking this will mean a less painful treatment, as well. It took me about 20-30 minutes to cover the area, which is the size of a deck [...]

It’s been just over 24 hours since I tried the Tria laser on a small patch of skin on my chest. The good news is that the area looks completely normal, so I’m ready to begin a full laser hair removal treatment. I’ll do that tonight after work and will post a full report. I was thinking of something I hadn’t mentioned before now, about the preparing to use the Tria laser. You can’t wax, pluck, or otherwise remove the hair from the root for 6 weeks prior to using the laser. Why? When you perform any kind of hair [...]

There are five energy levels on the TRIA laser and my first test of the laser begins with LOW, or Level 1. I take a deep breath and place the laser against my skin, prepared for the worst. The laser zaps you automatically, so there’s no button to push. As soon as you place the laser against your skin, it starts with one beep and a second beep when it’s done. So, what was my reaction… I immediately thought, “That’s it?” Frankly, I could hardly feel it. So I bumped it up to Level 2, Medium Low. Felt it a [...]

Like any new skin care products, the makers of the TRIA laser hair removal system recommend testing TRIA on a small patch of skin. Then you wait 24 hours to make sure the skin where the treatment was done appears normal. I decided to test the laser on my chest, but first you have to get your skin ready. There are three very important steps in preparing your skin for a Tria laser hair removal treatment. Clean your skin. Remove all makeup, moisturizers, lotions, powders, etc. I use a mild soap and pat the area dry with a towel. Shave [...]

I’ve finished reading the TRIA laser instruction booklet twice and I’m now ready to begin a laser hair removal treatment. But first I have to activate my system. Until you actually activate the unit via a phone call or the TriaBeauty.com website, you can’t even turn it on. The instructions say that it only takes about five minutes — we’ll see. So being the internet savvy gal that I am, I visited the website and clicked on “online activation” at the top left of the screen. You start by putting in registration information, followed by a few questions and your [...]
